Water Polo Goals
Hit but not sunk: our unsinkable water polo goals
The water polo goal
According to official rules, the goal in the water polo must be three meters wide, 1.60 meters deep and 90 cm high. Depending on the prevailing space or pool conditions, the water polo goals can be fixed with two different systems. If the pool has the right dimensions for a water polo field (e.g. 20 m x 10 m), the goals can be fixed to the pool edge using special anchoring using ground sleeves. There are also free-floating water polo goals for larger pools. These are equipped with floats for sufficient buoyancy and float on the water surface. To keep it in position, the floating gate is connected to the pool edge with lines. Of course, both gates can also be free-floating, but the field may also have a free-floating gate with buoyancy and a gate attached to the edge of the pool. The goal nets of the water polo goal must enclose the entire area of the goal. They must not be taut, but must be able to hang limply.
