Aqua Jogging
Aqua jogging - the joint-friendly running training in the water
What is aqua jogging?
In short, aqua jogging is exactly what you would expect: in deep water you perform the running movement typical of jogging - but with a stronger knee lift, which makes the movement more reminiscent of kicking. The toes are also stretched like a ballerina and it is not important to get ahead, rather the movement is practically carried out on the spot. In order not to go under, an aqua jogging belt made of foam provides the necessary buoyancy. Aqua jogging offers many advantages: In the water, the back and the joints and vision of the legs are less stressed because they only work against the resistance of the water. This is also why aqua jogging is often recommended in rehabilitation or senior sports, but healthy athletes and sports fans also benefit without complaints. Due to the pressure conditions in the water, a unit in aqua jogging burns more calories than a running unit on land. Properly executed, aqua jogging trains the whole body, including the arms, shoulders and the holding muscles. It applies: the higher the frequency of the running movement, the more exhausting and effective the training. The massage effect due to the water resistance is not to be scoffed at either. Aqua jogging belts are also used for aqua aerobics in deep water. Here, too, they make sure not to go under during the training session.
