Spitzner® Therm Warm Pack
The Spitzner® Therm Warmpack is the innovative heat carrier used for traditional heat therapy. It is reusable, cost-effective, and fully reimbursable (according to HMR §24 Paragraph 2 No. 5). It is also tested and comparable to fango-paraffin. With optimal moldability and comfort while lying down, the heat carrier adapts very well to the body area.
The Spitzner® Therm Warmpack is heated to 70°C on a standard fango plate (50 x 70 cm or 40 x 60 cm) in a conventional heat cabinet (not a microwave or water bath). It is then kept at this temperature in the cabinet (maximum of 75°C is possible). A few minutes before application, the Warmpack is removed. The package initially has a surface temperature of 70°C, which lowers to 52°C within a few minutes. This heat is considered therapeutically effective and is maintained throughout the entire application period (the heat treatment should not exceed 25 to 30 minutes). The cooled pack at 52°C is spread out on the treatment table. Afterwards, the Warmpack is molded to the patient. For hygienic reasons or to alleviate the initial contact heat, we recommend covering the Warmpack with a cloth made of cotton/linen/terry cloth or a disposable fleece. If the patient perspires, the covering material will absorb the moisture to a large extent. The surface of the Spitzner Therm Warmpack is liquid-repellent. After use, the Spitzner Therm Warmpack is disinfected.

Existing personnel are free for other tasks during this time.
The Spitzner® Therm Warm Pack is classified and reimbursed by all health insurance companies identically to mud-paraffin. The decision on which remedy to use lies fundamentally with the therapist. The only requirement is that the remedy meets the medical requirements. The Spitzner Therm Warm Pack fully meets these requirements. This is confirmed by the Medical Service of the Health Insurance Companies (MDK) based on the studies available for the Spitzner Therm Warm Pack. Therefore, the Spitzner Therm Warm Pack can be billed in accordance with HMR §24 Paragraph 2 No. 5.
