Spitzner® Sauna infusion Saunamed
Fresh-spicy scent classic. The sauna infusion Saunamed is a popular combination of classic essential oils from coniferous trees such as spruce, fir, and pine. It relaxes the bronchial muscles and deepens breathing. Menthol and camphor also strengthen the immune system and physical performance.
Due to their health-promoting character, the essential oils of coniferous trees are among the classic and most popular sauna scents.
The "common spruce", also known as "red fir", is the most important spruce species in Europe. Spruce grows quickly. In 80 to 100 years, it can grow up to 60 meters tall and is fully grown. At this age, it is usually felled and used as timber. Perhaps that is why spruce is the most common tree species in Germany. It can live up to 600 years.
There are about 50 different species of firs. They can all be found in the "temperate zone" of the Northern Hemisphere. In Central Europe, the silver fir is native. The fir can live up to 600 years and grow to about 50 meters tall. Fir needles can live for 8 to 11 years.
Scots pines are also known by the names pine, forche, or forle. They grow in both dry-hot and moist-cool areas and can live up to 600 years. They are very common. Depending on the location and climate, they either remain small and grow slowly or grow vigorously and reach 40 to 60 meters in height.
