Difference between Competition Replacement Bar and Training Replacement Bar
Both bars have an identical rail, but they differ in the attachment. The competition bar, suitable for uneven bars with tension, has bolts on the sleeve, while the training bar, suitable for freestanding uneven bars, has holes. Only the combination uneven bars is an exception, where the age of the device is decisive.
The uneven bars is one of the four disciplines of women's artistic gymnastics. The apparatus resembles the parallel bars, but has two staggered rails at heights of 1.50m and 2.30m. On the uneven bars, swings, releases, elements with flight phases, jumps, and somersaults are performed. Several changes of direction and grip are shown. Despite the similarities to the parallel bars, the gymnastics on the uneven bars is reminiscent of the high bar exercises performed by men, as many elements are presented on both apparatuses. That's why the apparatus is often referred to as the uneven parallel bars. Due to its dynamic and versatile nature, the uneven bars is considered one of the most challenging disciplines in artistic gymnastics. It requires strength, coordination, precision, and last but not least, a high level of courage from the gymnast.
