Nordic Sport® Javelin Comet

The Nordic Sport® javelin "Comet" is a soft javelin made of aluminum with a chromed steel tip for school and club use. It is also ideal for beginners. It complies with the competition rules of the German Athletics Federation (DLV) and World Athletics.

Classification by Flex Numbers:

Since 2012, the Swedish athletics specialist Nordic Sport has been using flex numbers instead of throwing distances to classify their javelins. Flex numbers indicate the stiffness of the javelins. The rule of thumb is: the lower the number, the stiffer the javelin.

- 400 g: 190.5-191.5 cm; approx. 406-415 g, shaft ø 21.7 mm, flex 12.9
- 500 g: 200.5-201.5 cm; approx. 506-515 g, shaft ø 23.7 mm, flex 12.6
- 600 g: 220.5-221.5 cm; approx. 606-615 g, shaft ø 23.7 mm, flex 12.1
- 700 g: 230.5-231.5 cm; approx. 706-715 g, shaft ø 26.7 mm, flex 11.7
- 800 g: 260.5-261.6 cm; approx. 806-815 g, shaft ø 27.7 mm, flex 11.4
