Futsal - Rules & Information

In Futsal, the ball is not played against the boards. The playing field is delimited by the lines of a handball court. It is played with 5 players against 5 (4 field players and 1 goalkeeper) on handball goals. The Futsal ball has reduced bounce and a circumference of at least 62 cm to a maximum of 64 cm (compared to a football which has a circumference of 68 to 70 cm). The ball has relatively low pressure (0.6 to 0.9 bar overpressure compared to 0.6 to 1.1 bar overpressure in a standard size 5 football). The sport has been played in official championships by the German Football Association (DFB), UEFA, and FIFA for several years. There is also a Futsal national team appointed by the DFB for men.
