The headgear provides optimal protection for beginners in boxing and professional combat athletes and should therefore be part of every boxer's equipment. However, headgear does not replace a mouthguard. Different types of mouthguards are available for protecting the teeth. One option is soft plastic mouthguards that can be individually adjusted in hot water. In addition, there is also a moldable version that needs to be mixed, but offers a particularly good fit.
