Enste® Weighted Blanket

The Enste® Weighted Blankets are aids for body experience, increasing deep sensitivity through the influence on sensory and muscular functions in the treatment of sensory integration disorders and central nervous system diseases. The weighted blanket is particularly suitable for use in therapy and at home. Heavy blankets or weighted blankets have been used in so-called hold therapy for years, among other things, in the treatment of individuals with autistic symptoms. This involves deep sensory (proprioceptive) feedback coupled with emotional attention.

Goals of the Enste® Weighted Blankets:
- Positive results can be observed in both cognitive and cerebral disabilities and disorders
- Through targeted stimulation, the processing and integration of sensory impressions is intended to be improved, thus promoting the planning and organization of adaptive behavior
- In diseases of the central nervous system, relaxation of skeletal muscles is sought through targeted influence on spasticity
- When used at night, the weighted blanket often leads to significantly improved sleep
- In these and similar medical conditions, the pressure on the body leads to changes in sensory processing and often to a positive self-perception.

Weight load and duration of treatment can influence sensitivity, sensory processing, and acceptance.

Outer covers are available in either Suratec-Polyamide-Nylon fabric (extremely robust) or cotton (for normal use) depending on your needs.

- Material: Suratec polyamide nylon fabric or cotton
- Filling: Round glass beads with a diameter of 1 to 1.3 mm
- The weight bags should be washed by hand.

- 5.5 kg = 90 x 72 cm
- 9 kg = 144 x 72 cm
- 14 kg = 180 x 90 cm
- 21 kg = 198 x 126 cm

- All outer shells are equipped with zippers for removing the weight bags
- Washable up to 60 degrees
- The foam padding of the bags serves as cushioning as well as noise reduction.

The Enste® Weighted Blankets must not be used by children and individuals with disabilities without supervision. The proper use of a weighted blanket requires a precise understanding and careful orientation to ensure that the user does not get into an uncontrollable and dangerous situation. A weighted blanket can be too heavy for a person, posing a risk of suffocation due to the weight of the blanket, or it can obstruct the airways if a person becomes trapped under the blanket and cannot free themselves. To wash the outer cover, the weight pockets must be removed from the cover using the zipper due to their weight (imbalance in the washing machine).
