Derbystar
Derbystar, a star among soccer balls
Where does the Derbystar brand come from?
The sporting goods of the Derbystar brand come from Goch am Niederrhein in Germany. A leather factory was founded here in 1963, which initially specialized in the production of riding accessories. The name Derbystar, based on a term from equestrian sport, still refers to this tradition today. Just a few years later, Derbystar was spun off as an independent brand and began to produce handcrafted soccer balls in the production facility in Goch. In the meantime, the product range of the traditional brand has been significantly expanded and the items are available in retail outlets all over the world.
Derbystar balls are valued for their quality
Derbystar has high quality standards and for this reason continues to this day the principle that the brand's balls are hand-sewn in the sporting goods factory. As a pioneer in the use of synthetic materials instead of the previously common leather, the company succeeded early on in producing balls with perfect rounding and very good playing characteristics. Thanks to this material surface, the soccer balls are characterized by soft ball contact, which in turn enables the athletes to have good ball control. The brand's balls are used in both games and training.
More products from Derbystar
Soccer balls are still the flagship of the Derbystar brand. They are also in demand in professional soccer and are used as official match balls in several high-ranking leagues and as training balls by many clubs. In addition to soccer balls in various sizes, Derbystar also produces balls for futsal and, under the Select brand, for handball. In addition, the company has expanded in the field of sportswear and offers, among other things, jerseys and team clothing, special sports bandages for handball, goalkeeper gloves and shin guards.
