When it comes to pole vaulting, the choice of the right pole vaulting mat/ pole vault pits is very important since the athletes fall from heights of up to six meters after crossing the bar. At Kübler Sport you will find the right pole vault mat/ pole vault pit for your needs, whether for international top competitions, school sports or training.

Buying the right pole vault mat/ pole vault pit

The right landing for the highest jumps in athletics

In pole vaulting, the athlete catapults himself over a crossbar that is as high as possible using a pole. The pole bends when jumping and thus accelerates the athlete, who crosses the crossbar with his feet first and then lands with his back on the pole vault mat/ pole vault pit. Since the athletes cross the crossbar at a height of up to six meters, choosing the right mat/ pit is particularly important. Kübler Sport offers you high-quality pole vault mat/ pole vault pit for every need, from the simple training mat to the IAAF-certified pole vault mat/ pole vault pit for competitions.

Dimensions of pole vault mats/ pole vault pits

In an international competition, the pole vault mat/ pole vault pit without a cushion must have a size of at least 6mx6mx0.80m, for other competitions the jumping surface should not be less than 5mx5m for safety reasons. Furthermore, laying mats to the left and right of the pole vault box are an indispensable part of the pole vaulting facility. For international competitions, these must be at least 2m long and, for safety reasons, not shorter than 1.50m.

Construction of pole vault mats/ pole vault pits

In our shop you will find pole vault mats/ pole vault pits with different foam core systems. The pole vault mat is standard in the monoblock system and consists of large foam blocks that ensure a safe and soft landing. Foam mats in the monoblock system are only suitable for low jump heights, for example for beginners or in school sports. Those who reach higher heights in training or competition should choose a pole vault mat/ pole vault pit with hollow chambers. Our pole vault cushion Aero with hollow chamber system consists of large foam cores through which hollow channels (hollow chambers) run, which allow the air to escape laterally for a softer landing. With our mat Aero WM type B with double hollow chamber system, the hollow chamber channels are arranged transversely to each other for an even better air circulation and thus an even softer landing. For each mat system, there is a foam wear mat above the foam cores, which is covered with a mesh fabric and protects the actual blocks of foam from the spikes. The pole vault cushion Aero also has the appropriate dimensions specified by the IAAF for international competitions.

For a safe landing and to avoid injuries, the rails of the pole vault stands should also be padded with foam mats. You will find these in our range, as well as pillows.

Optimal stabilisation and protection for your pole vault mat/ pole vault pit

Our wooden and aluminium slatted frames serve as the optimal basis for your mat. They prevent direct contact with the floor and thereby wet the mat from below, but also prevent the mat from slipping.

To protect the pole vault mat/ pole vault pit from rain, dirt and vandalism, you will also find the right rain protection tarpaulins, as well as mobile covers made of sheet metal or aluminium.

You can also find any other elements of a pole vaulting system in our online shop. We offer you a large selection of pole vault boxes, diving boards, diving stands, bars as well as training and system accessories.
